Following on from the first Alphablocks DVD, Abbey Home Media are releasing a NEW Alphablocks Phonics Next Steps Volume 2 DVD. As it’s not released until next week we haven’t yet had a chance to view it but if the first one is anything to go by, my two will love it just as much and want to watch it over and over.
The Alphablocks are 26 living letters who fall out of the sky and discover that if they hold hands and make a word, it comes to life. When words are magic and anything is possible, it’s an adventure, songs and games all the way!
Phonics Next Steps builds the alphabet skills that children are taught at school, helping them to recognise all their letters and sounds and make simple words. With repeat viewing, children can boost their phonics skills and reading confidence while having lots and lots of fun!
We love the Alphablocks and think it’s a wonderful pre school learning programme that both entertains and encourages little ones to pick up sounds. for my children, they all like alphablocks. 4 year old is learning to read at the moment and 3 yr old and 1 yr old will start learning his letters hopefully at some point! so its great for all of them. alphablocs make phonics a lot more interesting i think

My little boy has learning difficulties and we are trying very hard to get him to read at the moment. Alphablocks is a fun way to learn to read..we use the alphablocks game a lot on the cbeebies website which he finds a lot of fun so I’m guessing this would go down well 🙂

My son loves letters and it would be great for me to sit down and watch with him so we can repeat the phonics sounds together rather than me using the grown up “aaaay, beee, ceeee, deeee”
My l.o loves alphablocks! They use the alphablocks phonics books in his school now and they are fantastic. They are great for us parents too as the way they are taught to blend their letters is completely different to how I was taught in school. With these dvd’s I can help my child learn to read without confusing him by using the wrong “sounds”.
