WIN a Teletubbies Big Hugs CD

Having two children who enjoyed the Teletubbies phenomena as toddlers a few years ago it’s amazing to see that 20 years from it’s beginning the Teletubbies are still going strong.  This week they have released a catchy new album called Big Hugs packed full of new songs from the current series of the iconic show alongside a selection of children’s classics with a Tubby twist.

Music and dance are integral to Teletubbies, so it’s a great way to celebrate the 20th anniversary with a brand new album for young ones to sing and dance along with. Big Hugs will be available from HMV, Amazon.co.uk, iTunes and select other locations.   Tracks will also be available to download individually, with the title track “Big Hugs” available digitally on September 29th and can be streamed on Spotify.

Join the ultimate hero next door and his crew for new, exciting adventures.  Fireman Sam lives in the accident-prone town of Pontypandy, where he helps with fighting fires, manning the lifeboat, helping the mountain rescue, or joining up with the emergency medical services. With his colourful cast of helpers, he is always there to lend a hand!

In this new DVD release it’s Fireman Sam’s birthday and Charlie has asked Joe to make Sam a remote control model of Jupiter as a surprise present. At the Fire Station, Station Officer Steele has told Sam, as it’s his birthday, he should relax for the day. Bob the Builder – In ‘Lofty Lets Loose’, Bob and his team are building a new giraffe enclosure at the zoo, but Lofty’s excitement about meeting his favourite animal gets the better of him.

Wanda and the Alien – In ‘Starfish’, Wanda and friends help a hermit crab to find his starfish friend who was swept out to sea, aided by a giant whale and some important fish.

Toot the Tiny Tugboat – In ‘Toot’s Funny Side’, Toot arranges a funny No Talent Show to help Paula the Trawler overcome her embarrassment when she makes a mistake.

Toby’s Travelling Circus – In ‘Ribbons and Strings’, Toby is inspired to create a ribbon-and-strings act in the show after witnessing the havoc caused by Momo and Freddo earlier with a yo-yo.

Wissper – In ‘The Slow Slow Loris’ Sonia the slow loris asks Wissper to help her speed up as the chattering monkeys keep taking all the best fruit first.  Wissper decides to  enlist the help of Monty the meercat.

Paw Patrol – In ‘Pup Pup Boogie’, Ryder, Chase and Rubble use their dance moves to help repair the tracks before the next train arrives.

Peter Rabbit – The Tale of the Great Breakout is the latest Peter Rabbit DVD to be released by Abbey Home Media.  With six episodes to watch lasting 70 minutes in total, there are plenty of adventures for little ones to watch.

When Mr. McGregor captures the whole squirrel tribe in his garden, Peter must stage a mass break out to save his friends.  Follow our hero Peter and his friends Benjamin Bunny and Lily Bobtail on their adventures and quest to save the day, overcoming obstacles and outsmarting predators, all the while finding fun and excitement in the most unexpected places.

With a taste for radishes and a thirst for adventure Peter Rabbit is the lovable and extraordinary friend you longed to hang out with when you were a kid. But when the chips are down and danger lurks, there’s no better friend to have around than Peter and his boundless courage will always see him through. Peter has an infectious enthusiasm for life and is also an irrepressible optimist. He is cool under pressure and his quick-witted mind is as nimble as his super-fast legs.

So what did we think of it?

Well my 5yr old just loves Peter Rabbit and sat there glued to the DVD!  His favourite scene was when Peter was stealing the radishes and his favourite character is Lily, because she always finds something in her pocket to help them out.

This is a lovely series that I know I would have watched when I was younger and brings back some of the Beatrix Potter memories I had reading her books.  The DVD is sure to be a hit with young ones as they watch the adventures of Peter Rabbit and friends which is full of excitement, fun and friendship.

Today is National Puzzle Day, a fantastic time for families to sit down and enjoy a large jigsaw together or children trying to do a puzzle of their favourite characters by themselves.

I’ve always been a fan of jigsaws and have my encouraged my children to do so too. Jumbo Games have a wide variety of puzzles available for all ages and tastes so there really is something to suit everyone.

Barbie is most girls dream doll and the idea of styling her hair and make up is the ultimate fun activity!  This Barbie Deluxe Styling Head is the ultimate toy for young girls to practice hair and make up styles, everything from curls to plaits, nails to eye make up.

barbieThis deluxe version exceeded my expectations in size, the styling head is bigger than I thought, therefore making it easier to use.  Barbie’s arms fold out, which is a great added feature and allows you to decorate Barbie’s nails with the various stickers and fake nails included.  Barbie wear’s a very sparkly pink dress and the whole styling head looks well made and sturdy.

barbie 2The set contains numerous accessories such as a hair brush, clips, hair ties, clip in extensions, curling tong, scissors, nail stickers, fake nails, earrings etc.

barbie 3My daughter is keen to learn how to plait hair and this was her ideal opportunity.  She now wants me to teach her how to do fish plaits.  She’s also had fun sticking nails on Barbie along with the nail stickers.  There is quite a lot to keep a child occupied and if they are into hairstyling and beauty, then this is just the thing for them.  The hair does need brushing a few times when first opened as it has a kind of spray in it to keep it all in place, but once that’s brushed out the hair is soft and manageable.
