Character products from Brantano – Review

Both my children love having popular characters on their clothes, shoes and other items and Brantano have a great selection available.  With characters such as Peppa Pig, Star Wars, Frozen, Minions, Barbie, Disney Princesses and many more there really is something for everyone and they are sure to have your children’s favourite.

brantanoWith Mister B loving Spiderman right now, these Spiderman Light up trainers were sure to be a hit.  He absolutely loves them and doesn’t want to take them off.  At £24 they feel well made for character shoes, and have lots of thought about detail and easy to fasten velcro straps.

brantano 2The exciting bit for Mister B is jumping around and watching his shoes light up at the heel with a bright red flash!  They fit well and are comfortable, meaning he’s happy to wear them and they are great for walking about in for everyday wear, after school and at weekends.

brantano 3As you can see he loves his shoes and I always think it’s a good thing if a child likes their shoes as it’s so much easier to get out of the house rather than battling with them to put things on they don’t like.

Miss M is back to packed lunches at school this year so needed a new lunch box and was thrilled to pick out this Frozen one.  It’s a lunch bag style with a soft, padded carry handle and zips around to close.  It has some pretty detail on the side and on the back it has a place to write your child’s name.

brantano 4It’s a really good size so easily fits food for lunch, snack and a drink bottle inside.  It has a grey wipe clean interior that is easy to clean with a quick wipe round and it’s ready to use again the next day.  Miss M loves her Frozen themed lunchbox and it has daily use at school each week.

Mister B’s 4th Birthday

A couple of weeks ago my dear Mister B celebrated his 4th birthday.  He was so excited, although had been quite specific in his requests for his special day.  He only wanted a few friends round at home, for dancing, pass the parcel and musical statues so that’s exactly what we did.

3After opening his presents early in the morning, we then walked big sister, Miss M to school.  Usually being a little shy and reluctant to talk to strangers, he had a new found courage now that he is 4 and told everyone we saw along the way that he is now 4! lol

In the afternoon Daddy took him to the aquarium while I prepped for the party, and he proudly told the receptionist that he was 4 meaning Daddy had to buy a membership card for him.  They then picked Miss M up from school and came home eagerly awaiting his friends to arrive.

Amazingly they all bought him Spiderman toys which he thought was hilarious, but incredibly pleased with them.  We played various games to music and then I suggested my favourite party game to calm them down, Sleeping Lions.  To my surprise they all cheered and told me how much they loved that game, and before I said anything more they were all laid down on the floor with their eyes shut… and their was silence!!

I then sat them down for some party food followed by singing Happy Birthday and blowing the candles on his Spiderman cake!  Mister B was thrilled with his cake (even though mummy cheated and bought the cake! Shhh!).

Blake 4For the next week Mister B has proudly told everyone, everywhere that he is 4, from the cashiers in the supermarkets, to teachers at the school, and anyone, anywhere that I happen to chat to!   On the Saturday, Nanny & Grandad kindly took us to Prezzo to celebrate his birthday where he enjoyed pizza followed by chocolate ice cream.  Then he opened his presents from them and as you can see in the above picture, his favourite present believe it or not was a Spiderman cushion!  He has been so cute and lays his head on this everynight.  Aw my baby boy is growing up, and whenever I’ve called him my little baby or little boy over the last two weeks, he turns round and says “I’m not your baby, I’m 4!!”

Ultimate Spider-Man Go Glow Pal – Review

Ultimate Spiderman Go Glow Pal from Worlds Apart is a wonderful soft Spiderman that you can cuddle that doubles as a nightlight by simply pressing his tummy which lights up his eyes.

spidermanMister B is a huge Spiderman fan and he was thrilled when he saw the Spiderman Go Glow and couldn’t wait to give it a cuddle.  Mister B does struggle with the dark and night so this is a perfect way to allow a little light into his room and reassure him if he feels scared.  Below you can read about a recent survey that Go Glow carried out with parents:

BANISH MONSTERS WITH GOGLOW®

With darker evenings nearly upon us, children’s lighting brand GoGlow® has conducted a survey to find the answer, and it is as simple as fears of what is lurking in the dark.

Asking 1,000 parents, the survey revealed monsters as the main reason under fives were afraid of the dark (67%). With fears of the dark at an all time high in October when the clocks go back and the nights become shorter.

HOW TO BANISH FEARS!

Seven in ten parents make a special effort to walk around their child’s bedroom to prove there are no monsters hiding.  With three quarters of children getting out of bed to seek reassurance from their parents, the survey went on to find night-lights were the most reassuring solution that helped stop scary shadows.

If you are looking for a way to ease your little ones fears of the dark, children’s sleep expert and founder of Millpond Children’s Sleep Clinic, Mandy Gurney has a fun tip to help:

“If your child is afraid of the dark, offer them the reassurance of a night light to have nearby when they need it. You could even play hide and seek, in the late afternoon, using a GoGlow® torch, so they realise there’s nothing to be afraid of.”

spiderman 1As you can see above Mister B is really happy with his Spiderman Go Glow, it is well made and a good size, perfect for bedtime cuddles.  There are suckers on the hands to stick Spiderman to your wall or bed while you sleep.  The light is really quite bright and great for little ones to use in the night although the great thing is it switches itself off after 15 minutes.  It requires 3 AAA batteries which are included when you buy it so it is ready to go.

spiderman 2This night light has worked really well for us and totally put Mister B at ease in the dark.  He has wandered into our bedroom in the night a couple of times and we have seen to big white Spiderman eyes glowing guiding his way.  I think it’s great to find a night light with a character your little ones love as it really does help them to drift off to sleep!
