When I was sent the NEW Hoops and Crosses snack from Walkers to try, I knew I’d have two perfect candidates to taste test alongside me. As soon as they hear the crunching of a biscuit or crisp packet you can be sure they will be in the room asking “Can I have some mummy?”.
The idea behind the Hoops and Crosses snack is to boost the amount of wholegrain intake to ensure children are getting a balanced diet. The snack promises:
- 85 calories per bag
- Hoops and Crosses are made from wholegrains, have no artificial colours or preservatives
- They come in three flavours – all suitable for vegetarians (prawn cocktail, roast beef, salt and vinegar)
The sample pack arrived tucked inside the arms of a cuddly little monkey which has become inseparable with Miss M. So what did we think of the snack itself. Well we loved the crunchy texture, the Roast Beef flavour was very strong but enjoyable and the novelty of having Hoops and Crosses shapes led daddy and Miss M to have a game on the table!
So on asking 5 yr old Miss M her verdict, the reply I got was “Mummy, they are very yummy” and “Can you buy some more?”. Therefore I conclude that these are loved by children and I will now be on the lookout for them next time I visit the supermarket.
I think Walkers Hoops and Crosses are ideal for lunchboxes or snacks on the go and being a bit healthier than normal crisps are definitely something that would encourage me to buy them.
