Primula Flavoured Cheese Spreads

Primula has been famous for it’s soft spreadable cheeses since 1924, and today the creamy spreads have added flavours to bring even more taste and flavour to your lunches.  With six flavours in their tubes of cheese spread, we gave them a try out over the last few weeks.

WP_20160715_14_14_18_RichThe range consists of:

  • Original Cheese
  • Light Cheese
  • Cheese with Chives
  • Cheese with Ham
  • Cheese with Prawns
  • Cheese with Smoked Salmon

Being in a tube they are so handy just to squeeze out and they are super easy to spread on top of bread, crackers etc.  We’ve really enjoyed trying out all of the different flavours, I’ve been using the light cheese one as part of my healthy eating but my husband really enjoyed the Cheese with Chives.  My mum enjoyed the fish flavours whilst the children enjoyed the ham one.  So as you can see there really is a flavour out there for everyone to enjoy.

WP_20160731_12_03_21_ProThere are so many different ways to enjoy Primula, not only have we had it for lunches, but also squirted onto a hot jacket potato alongside salad for a Summer meal.  Being in tubes they are also perfect for taking along on picnics and spreading them fresh on bread or crackers straight from the tube.  This have been great to try out and so handy to keep in the fridge, even the children find them easy to squeeze and enjoy making their own sandwiches.  If you are looking for something cheesy that’s simple and tasty, then these are just what you need.  Look out for them next time you pop to the supermarket!

Primula Squeezy Cheese for Kids – Review

Primula Squeezy Cheese for Kids comes in handy, easy to squeeze tubes that make it simple to add to sandwiches, meals or even used as a simple dip.  With added calcium, reduced salt and no nasty additives this is great for children however young.

primula 1Miss M was intrigued when she saw them and wanted to have a “squeeze” herself so she set about making her own sandwiches using some squeezy Primula instead of butter then adding some ham.  She found it very easy to squeeze and spread herself which is great, allowing her to be independent in making her own lunches.

For Mister B I added some Primula to hot cooked pasta and allowed it to melt around the pasta giving it a soft, creamy cheese sauce.  I then added some ham and served and I have to say it was a resounding success.  Perfect for a quick after school meal.  I would also add some vegetables to it in future such as some frozen peas and sweetcorn or a little fresh brocolli.

Both children also enjoyed using the Primula cheese as a dip for carrot sticks, cucumber and breadsticks!!   A very versatile cheese that kids enjoy!
