Dr. Beckmann Cleaning products Review & Giveaway

Dr. Beckmann have a great range of essential cleaning products for your large kitchen appliances that I wish I’d discovered long ago.  My washing machine often gets a little grubby around the seal, and can get a bit whiffy inside, but I hadn’t realised you could get specific products for cleaning inside.  I usually just run it on an empty hot wash but it never really does the job properly.

Service-it ProductsAfter being given the chance to sample Dr. Beckmann’s simple to use deep cleaning products I couldn’t wait to give them a try.  A few days ago I gave my washing machine a long overdue treat with Deep Clean from Dr. Beckmann, and as soon as the empty cycle had finished, I could immediately see the results – a much fresher, cleaner looking inside to my machine.  It was so easy to use, just tip the powder in the drum of the machine and put it on an empty wash. If I had known about these sooner I would have given my machine a spring clean long before now!

The also have dishwasher cleaning products which I ran through my parents dishwasher and my mum was rather happy with the results.  A dishwasher is on my wish list for my new house and when I get one, I now know what to use to keep it clean.

If you’d like to try a selection of Dr. Beckmann’s Service It products then simply fill in the form below as I have a bundle as shown above to give away to one lucky reader.

Kitchen Appliance Wishlist

With a view to moving house in the near future, I’m always on the lookout for items I’d love in my new kitchen.  I love the colour silver, therefore stainless steel and grey coloured appliances always appeal to me, and being neutral means you can brighten up the kitchen with other cheaper accessories.

One must have for my future kitchen is a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer in Medallion Silver, perfect for all the baking I love to do, but also a stylish piece to sit on the worktop.

Something I’ve always desired in the corner of my kitchen is a large American Fridgefreezer with lots of shelves and storage inside.  A water cooler dispenser on the outside would be great too, so that I can pour a glass of chilled water whenever I like.

A toaster is something that my family use on a daily basis so needs to stay out on the work surfaces at all times.  Therefore I want one that looks good but also can do four pieces of toast at a time.  I like this Russell Hobbs model with it’s stylish looks and additional features.

z3Finally an absolute essential for my new kitchen is a dishwasher.  I’ve never owned one, well other than the husband, but I need something much more efficient.  I get fed up seeing piles of dirty dishes on the side waiting to be washed and with a dishwasher I can hide them away.  I like the clean, sleek lines of this Miele dishwasher which would fit seamlessly into any kitchen.

Dishwashing by Hand versus Dishwasher

One of my pet hates is washing the dishes, a chore that comes up everyday and with four people in the household, we do accumulate plenty of dishes.   To be honest I try and avoid the task as much as possible leaving it for the husband to do, while I get on with the laundry, tidying and general sorting out.  I do cook all the meals in the house so I guess it is only fair to share the kitchen duties between us! lol WP_004819It really bugs me seeing the mound of dishes grow beside the sink all day and the ideal solution to this would be to get a dishwasher.  Not only could you hide away any dirty dishes throughout the day until the dishwasher is full, just think of all the time saved washing up and no debates about who’s turn it is to do it.  Oh and best of all it’d save my hands and nails.  I find that when I do have my hands in and out of dishwater, even if it’s for only five minutes, the skin on my hand becomes dry and rough.  So for me a dishwasher sounds like a winning gadget.  If only I had the space, which is one of the reasons I want to move house.

It will then be the decision of which dishwasher to choose?  My parents have a lovely integrated dishwasher with a door to match the units of the kitchen so you wouldn’t know it was there.  I can only hope that I am lucky enough to own a kitchen one day that fits a dishwasher and one that blends in the with the units would be even better.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIt seems that we have the ideal water here in the Southwest for a dishwasher, being soft the dishwasher performs better leaving no limescale residues and less extra additives such as salt and rinse aid are required.  Well I guess that’s one bonus for having soft water – having grown up with hard water, I used to drink it all day long.  Now unfortunately I have resorted to buying bottled water for drinking purposes as soft water just isn’t pleasant on the palate! (not to mention the expense of it here – don’t get me started on that one!)

I’ll keep househunting and hopefully the right house will come along this year and we can move to more spacious living arrangements with a large family kitchen.  Mmmm, and just think of all that extra baking I could do with more space in the kitchen and a dishwasher to clean up after me!
