Thunderbirds Dress Up Costume – Review

Thunderbirds is a popular family favourite that most people are familiar with whatever age they are, so this new Scott Tracy dress up costume from Pretend to Bee will be a hit with a lot of children.

Available in sizes that will fit ages from 3 up to 10 years, the costume has wide appeal and has an extra fun hidden sound button. The costume is designed in shades of blue with various detailing such as a badge design on the sleeve as well as padding across the upper chest area and shoulders. There is velcro down the back to get it on and off and also an additional small zip at the front.

Thunderbirds 4 There are also a few detachable parts that simply velcro on. A padded sash goes from one shoulder down to the waist with strong velcro either end and behind the middle of the sash you can velcro on a little sound button which proved to be rather fun and had 5yr old Mister B very excited and kept him playing in the costume for hours. There are also two padded gauntlets that go over the lower arms and velcro around the back for added dimension to the costume.

The sound button on the costume is really effective and brought lots of fun when playing with. It says in the familiar voice “5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Thunderbirds are Go, **a big blast of sound**”.

Listen to the sound in the video below, it’s sounds much louder in real life, your little boy will just want to try it!

The Thunderbirds costume is brilliant, I love it and my little boy loves it, so we would definitely recommend it. It’s had lots of wear already in the short time that we’ve had it and I’m sure it will get plenty more. I think when a child puts the costume on themselves in the morning you can be sure it is a hit!

Captain America Costume from Fun Warehouse

Most little boys dream about being a superhero, and my little man is no different. His current idol is Captain America of which he would love to be so when we got the chance to try out a costume from Fun Warehouse we didn’t hesitate with which one to choose. They have a wide variety of costumes all categorised to make them easy to find with the Superhero section being packed full of different hero costumes. For each superhero there are varying styles at different price points meaning there is something to suit everyone’s taste and budget.

Our Captain America costume arrived and Mister B’s eyes lit up, he couldn’t wait to try it on. The costume comes in two pieces, an all in one suit that you step into and has velcro to do up at the back and a mask that has velcro to attach under the chin. The outfit is flexible and comfortable

Mister B got straight into character when wearing the costume and showed me his Captain America poses. He loved wearing the outfit, found it comfortable and has had hours of fun being a superhero, which is what costumes are all about. The outfit seems well stitched and although fairly thin is durable and easy for kids to get on themselves. I think we’ll have lots of fun with this over the next couple of years.

Frozen Princess Elsa Dress Up Costume – Review

Frozen is the hit Disney film has created a huge buzz among young girls this year and Miss M is no exception, so when I heard that Otley Run Fancy Dress have added a selection of children’s Frozen costumes to their website I was eager to check them out.

Miss M has decided on a Frozen theme for her 7th birthday so this dress is the perfect outfit for her to wear!

As you can see this dress is a gorgeous blue satin full length skirt with a sequin bodice and silver detail along the waistline and top. There is a detachable Elsa badge in the centre. There are chiffon style sleeves and the most gorgeous full length attached chiffon cape covered in glimmery snowflakes.

I’ve seen a few versions of the Elsa dress around recently and would definitely say this is the best quality of the ones I’ve found. Miss M adores the flowing cape, even though it’s attached, it really does make the costume stand out from the others.

We found the sizing of this particular dress to be on the small size and found the size up to be best fitting for Miss M and I can honestly say she loves it. She can’t wait to show her friends at her birthday party in 7 weeks time!

This is the sort of outfit I would expect to receive if I ordered from a fancy dress company and would certainly not be let down. It has been a hit with both me and my daughter therefore I’d definitely recommend, although I’d suggest going a size up if you want this to last.

This dress up costume totally represents Princess Elsa from Frozen which is what most young girls are looking for right now. I’d recommend this for any Frozen fan wanting to dress up as their idol and be the princesss of their dreams!

Kids Costume T-shirts – Review

Kid’s T-shirts are a t-shirt printing company that produce a vast array of designs under many different themes from animals to sports, halloween to world book day. We were asked to choose a t-shirt from their costume section which includes a range of designs that children aspire to be when they grown up.

Some of the designs include an astronaut, policeman, chef, knight, wizard, doctor, firefighter and nurse. I asked my children to have a look through and see what they wanted to be. Mister B who is 3 would love to win a gold medal, we are not sure what in yet but it’s something he aspires to own so he picked the gold medal t-shirt. Miss M on the other hand aspires to be a policeman like her daddy although she wasn’t so keen on a black/yellow t-shirt so decided she wants to be a princess for now.

The t-shirts are generously sized with plenty of room to move around and play in. I thought the choice was good and depending on the design of the t-shirt you could choose what colour background you wanted. Both my children loved them and happily wanted to wear them again and again.

I think it’s good for children to start thinking about all the roles and opportunities available to them when they are older, even if it’s just for a bit of fun. These t-shirts are great to wear everyday but also can be used as part of a dress up outfit. It also encourages conversation on the topic of the t-shirt. For Mister B we discussed medals and the different colours, which one is first, second, third and the sorts of events you can win them in.

A lucky Black Cat for Halloween?

One thing all children love to do is dress up – so when I was offered to pick a Halloween costume from the selection at Joker’s Masquerade, I knew 4 year old Miss M would be thrilled. They have an extensive choice of Halloween outfits to choose from including Skeletons, Vampires, Zombies, Witches and Ghosts. So what did Miss M choose? – A Halloween black cat.

And she loved it!!! Miss M has worn this outfit for the last 3 days since we received the parcel, around the house, to the supermarket and riding up and down the street on her scooter which proves one thing – it must be very comfortable! This is a very important aspect to me as there is nothing worse than an uncomfortable, itchy outfit that your child doesn’t enjoy wearing.

The Halloween Cool Cat outfit that we chose consists of a black shimmery all in one catsuit with a zip up the back, a velcro tail and a headband with ears. The costume was very soft and smooth to the touch and easy to put on. This outfit is suitable for 4-6 year olds and with Miss M just over 4 and half I would say this is the perfect fit.

This is a great little dress up outfit which can be used either to be just a cat or a Halloween black cat which we definitely will be this October. So if you are looking out for a fancy dress outfit this year either for yourself or your little ones be sure to check out the vast range at Joker’s Masquerade. You’ll be spoilt for choice – I certainly was!!
