My Big Animal Book - Review - Mummy's Little Stars

One thing we love in this house are books, and animal books always seem to go down well, so I was pleased to receive My Big Animal Book from Tick Tock books to read with my children.

My Big Animal Book is a hardback reference book with thick glossy pages covering the world of animals from the jungle to under the sea, at the farm and animals at home. Each double page spread covers a different animal or group of animals and gives various facts about their lifestyles, habitats, ways of life and characteristics of the animals.

This book is a fabulous introduction to animals with little bite size facts that are easy for children to digest. I have sat reading this with my 5yr old Miss M. With each turn of the page, you move onto different animals keeping children intrigued. She thoroughly enjoyed looking through the pages, listening to the facts and eagerly taking it all on board. I was surprised to hear her give me additional facts about certain animals that I didn’t know she knew as well as ask questions about things in the book. She loved looking at the pictures, identifying what she knew as the images are clear and bright – great for maintain little ones interest.

We have loved this book, more than I initially thought. It has plenty of intriguing general knowledge facts to learn and although educational has proved interesting and fun to sit and look through together. I’m sure we’ll have many more fun times looking through it – I’d definitely recommend My Big Animal Book – a great factual book for little ones.
