HABA Catch Me! Tin Game – Review

Our final toy in HABA’s 75th Anniversary celebration is a very cute little game called Catch Me! a cat and mouse game in a tin.

Catch Me! Tin Game by HabaCatch Me! by HABA is a simple but fun game that packs away in a small tin, ideal for travel, out and about etc.  The game uses the tin as the role of the cat and the players have to pull their mice off the circle of felt as quickly as possible before the cat traps them.  There is an added dimension to the game with the die which allows certain coloured mice to escape.

Miss M really enjoyed playing Catch Me!, more than I initially thought she would.  Although the game is over almost as quick as it is started, Miss M loved the thrill of pulling the mice away quickly or being the cat with the tin trying to trap the mice.  We had lots of fun and laughs playing this.

I love the little tin the game comes in and the pieces are all well made inside.  This will definitely be coming on holiday with us this year and with up to six players able to play we can all join in the fun.

We love this game from HABA and Miss M gave it a big thumbs up!

HABA Toy Food Salami – Review

In celebration of HABA’s 75th Anniversary, we are reviewing three toy items, today being toy Salami.  Now what child doesn’t like playing with toy food.  My two love playing pretend picnics, shops, cafes etc. all of which require a little bit of toy food to help them role play.  It always brings them together in play and is something that they spend many hours playing with.

Haba Salami 3

HABA’s toy Salami is made of soft materials and of excellent quality.  It comprises of a salami with a loop at the top that you can hang up and three cut slices.  Miss M love pretending to cut the slices with her toy knife then using them with her other play food in her pretend cafe.  Although the Salami is soft it does seem very durable and well made.  Miss M has enjoyed playing with it and it definitely inspires me to look at other toy food made by HABA.  I know they do some amazing looking toy cakes and biscuits!

HABA Come with us! Opposites book – Review

We were delighted to be sent some little HABA toys to help celebrate HABA’s 75th Anniversary!  HABA are a German toy manufacturing company that produces high quality children’s toys, games and furniture.  A lot of their toys are made from wood but in more recent years they have expanded to use other materials but have maintained the excellent high standard we have come to know from HABA.

I have always found that any HABA toys I have come across have been beautifully designed, attractive to look at and well made.  They are a joy to own and play with and great to pass down to younger children – they definitely stand the test of time.

We received a book from the Come with us! series and it was all about opposites.  It is a board book aimed at preschool children and covers opposites such as tall/short, empty/full, small/large etc.

What makes this book from HABA so delightful is that it comes with a beautifully made wooden sheep called Willow.  He is magnetic and what makes the book clever is that on each page the Willow will only stick to the opposite described in the story.

My two children both enjoyed this book and had fun playing with Willow to see where he would and wouldn’t stick and although 5 yr old Miss M knew immediately where to stick him, 2 yr old Mister B had to think a bit more and by trying to stick Willow in various places has helped reinforce opposites with him.

We love this HABA Come with us! book and think it would be great for any child of pre school age.  A nice little story along with learning opportunities in a fun, interactive way.
