The Summerton Club Spirit Subscription – Review

The Summerton Club is a high quality spirit subscription based club, but one that offers a lot of flexibility along with high end products delivered to your door each month.

With a cost of £50 a month, it’s straightforward, that includes delivery and a high quality  bottle of spirit from a selection of aged brandies (Armagnac, calvados, Cognac), rums (cachaça, rum, rhum, ron), whiskies (bourbon, whiskey, whisky) and more, from around the world.

You can opt from just a whisky selection or have a random selection across the board of drinks.

We received the Mackmyra Gruguld Swedish Single Malt Whisky, which comes presented beautifully in a double layer box.  The bottle itself is chunky with a pretty gold fleck design giving it a festive feel.  Obviously we needed to try it out and not being big whisky drinker myself I got a couple of males to test it out and they were thoroughly impressed.  Not having tasted Swedish whisky before they confirmed it was really smooth with a warm spicy finish with fits with the notes regarding it’s taste:

Spicy with a nice balance between fruits,
berries, oils and oak. Blackcurrant, pear
fudge and grapefruit. Pleasant spicy oak
with hints of tar and tobacco leaves. The
texture has a light oiliness.

What makes The Summerton Club more than just the usual subscription service is that it sources really unusual and hard to get hold of bottles allowing you to try luxury brands that you wouldn’t just pick up in your local supermarket.  For example the Gruguld variety from MackMyra isn’t even availalble in the UK.

This looks good as either a treat for yourself or as a gift for a friend or family member, which brings me on to this time of year. With Christmas fast approaching, most of us know whisky loves among us and if you are looking for a special gift then this could be it.

The Summerton Club offer a variety of options so you can opt for monthly, bi monthly or quarterly options, you can also cancel at any time so your hands aren’t tied to a lengthy subscription should you not want to.

From my experience the quality is there, any recipient would be delighted with their delivery and it gives that touch of luxury combined with a unusual product to try.

If you want to check it out, head over to The Summerton Club now to see your options and get your order in for the perfect festive gift!!

All reviews are my own and my family’s opinions and we received the product in order to write an honest review.

Magazine.co.uk subscriptions – great gift ideas!

Magazine.co.uk is the UK’s leading magazine subscription website and it’s easy to see why.  They have a huge range of magazines available full of celebrity gossip, health, fitness, cooking, lifestyle, kids interests and much more.  There really is something for everyone as I found out when browsing the website.

WP_20150902_18_05_37_ProI’ve been lucky to try out a few annual subscriptions for me and my family and you can catch up with my posts on the magazine.co.uk blog.

For me I love a bit of celebrity gossip and OK! magazine is just the thing that I can pick up and down inbetween dealing with the children.  I’m also a fan of Red magazine, with real life stories, fashion and beauty, something I can enjoy when I’m on my own and can relax and read.

With an imminent house move I also love to read home magazines such as House Beautiful, Period Living and Ideal Home, in fact you are spoilt for choice with the selection of interior magazines.

There are some fun looking magazines for children, I know Miss M would love Animals &  You and Mister B would enjoy Adventure Time or Batman.

Not forgetting the husband, I’m sure he’d love a subscription to something like Top Gear or Men’s Fitness.

What I like about magazine.co.uk is that you can get a whole year’s subscription to a magazine for cheaper than buying the magazines individually and also they get delivered direct to your door!

Why not check out the great selection today and take out a subscription – they make great gift ideas especially for birthday or Christmas, but also why not treat yourself?

Arts and Crafts Gift Ideas for Children

My two children are so excited about Christmas, the joy of Santa coming down the chimney and leaving them a pile of presents to open.  But with so much choice out there where do I start.  There are a wide variety of Children’s Toys at Littlewoods available but I want to get my children something that’s not too gimmicky, that they will use again and again and has some sort of learning value from it.  So I’ve decided to concentrate this years presents on creative toys this year.

As well as physical toys, you can also get them to have fun online with digital scrapbooking where they can help you create great gifts using photos adding backgrounds and stickers to add their own touch.  This is a great introduction for young creative kids to gain some computer skills as they can play around changing their designs as they wish.

For physical toys there are some great ideas shown below:

Both my children love colouring, painting, sticking, you name it, they are always entertaining me by making something so this Jake and the Neverland Pirates Colour Your Pirate Ship would be right up their street. They’d have hours of fun decorating this before acting out their pirate adventures!

Littlewoods piratesThey both love getting their fingers stuck in dough, so I’d love to get them each a fun set, to get creative with.  For 5yr old Miss M, she’d just love this Play-Doh Disney Princess design-A-Dress Boutique where she could create lots of pretty dresses for the princesses.  For Mister B who’s 3, the Fireman Sam Dough Toolbox would be perfect for him to mould bits of dough in whatever shape he likes.  With lots of tools, cutters and stencils this would keep him occupied for hours and he’d love the toolbox to keep it all in like one of his idols – Fireman Sam.

Miss M loves to draw her own pictures and although they are cute and creative, I think she’d really enjoy the Hello Kitty Drawing Projector to aid her drawing skills and allow her to draw fun pictures with the help of the projector light but as if they are her own. It would boost her drawing confidence and hopefully give her ideas on further ideas for her own pictures.

Littlewoods hello kitty projectorOne thing we often find ourselves doing as a family is travelling long journeys in the car, either to visit family or to go on days out.  I’m alway on the lookout for things to keep the children occupied in the back of the car and these Travel Art Easels look just the thing my two would enjoy and entertain them along the way.  The Disney Princess for Miss M and Monsters University for Mister B.

So many exciting present ideas for art and craft loving children, I know my two would be pleased to see all of these on Christmas morning.  They’ll have to write their wish lists for now and wait and see what Santa brings!
