Ready Brek – the Super Smooth Oat Cereal to Start Your Day!

Ready Brek has always been a part of my life from very young when my mum used to make me a bowl for breakfast on a cold Winter’s morning before school. The lovely warm feeling in your tummy is the perfect way to set you up for the start of the day.

Having teamed up with Despicable Me 3, Ready Brek is offering lots of chances to with prizes with codes inside each pack. My little boy had already requested for me to buy some after seeing adverts on television before we even received these boxes to try out! I’m more than happy to buy him some as the cold frosty mornings are upon us as it’s really important to ensure the children get a healthy breakfast at the start of the day.

We do like our Ready Brek just as it comes out of the box for breakfast but are also fans of the chocolate variety – they even do honey or seriously oatey if you fancy them!

Other than eating the Ready Brek for breakfast or supper we do like to bake with it and one of our favourite recipes that we make is Secret Ready Brek Cookies – chocolate Ready Brek with a hidden white chocolate square inside. Why not give them a try?

Despicable Me 3 fans will love the new toys that are out now – perfect stocking fillers for Christmas. Firstly the DVD of the movie which my children loved watching again after seeing in the cinema after it was first released. I just know my little boy will watch it again and again checking out Grue’s latest tricks and adventures.

He was also rather thrilled with the Mineez Fizz ‘n’ Surprise Submarine which he took in the bath with him. It’s like a bath bomb that fizzes on the outside and out pops a little plastic submarine complete with two minion figures inside. This is now his favourite bath toy so we have minion adventures every night in the bathtub!

Overall I think Ready Brek and Despicable Me 3 make a great team and it’s definitely appealed to my children. What’s not to love? A super tasty warming breakfast along with fun and games with the minions!

All Bran Cereals Real Mums 5 day Challenge

All Bran from Kelloggs have set a Real Mums 5 day challenge to make a difference to your digestive system simply by eating one of the new tasty All Bran varieties each morning for 5 days.

The new flavours that we were sent to try are Golden Crunch, Red Berry Crunch and Chocolate Wheats. The children immediately had their eye on the chocolate wheats so I was keen to see whether they enjoyed the cereals too and if it had any effect on their well being at the same time.

The cereals really don’t taste like traditional All Bran even though they are full of healthy bran. I really enjoyed the Red Berry Crunch, full of bran, mixed cereal pieces and freeze dried fruit.

The Golden Crunch was tasty too, full of multi grain clusters although I did find this a bit sweeter to taste, but great for a suppertime snack.

The Chocolate Wheats were really tasty, everyone in the family enjoyed these and the children joined in with the 5 day challenge.

Eating healthily is something we always try and do, although we do have treats and sweet things. For me, I do try to have a healthy breakfast although it can sometimes be difficult when in a rush on busy mornings getting the children ready for school. I ensured for my 5 day challenge I had a bowl of All Bran cereal every day and it definitely gives you a good start to the mornings.

I do slip up with my eating from time to time and my body does immediately feel sluggish and my digestive system feels the effects with bloating etc. so anything to help me keep on track is good.

I do feel a lot better when eating healthily throughout the day and I found that I tended to have more nutrious meals after starting my day with All Bran. Therefore I can say I definitely felt good over the 5 days I ate All Bran. I think starting the day well tends to lead you to carry on the day well. I’m sure my digestive system benefited from eating All Bran based cereal each day and will continue eating it to hopefully build up a healthier digestive flow through my body.

Jordans Country Crisp Strawberries Cereal – Review

Jordans Country Crisp Strawberries is an oat baked cereal, consisting of crunch oat clusters, mixed with chopped hazelnuts and strawberries.

My husband being an avid cereal fan, couldn’t wait to get stuck in! I know from previous experience that the Jordans crunchiness can be addictive and this Strawberry version didn’t disappoint. This cereal is crunchy, moreish and interspersed with strawberry bites that give it a tasty, indulgent texture at every bite. This cereal was a hit with us and enjoyed by all.

We decided to make some Crunchy White Chocolate Bites with the cereal using melted white chocolate mixed in with the cereal. Miss M who is 6 was the chief mixer and excitedly mixed it up and spooned the mixture into little silicone cases. We let them chill in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving them with fresh strawberries!

The whole family enjoyed these bitesize snacks and they are perfect for pack lunches too! Why not have a go at making some yourself – a quick little baking activity for the school holidays!
