Ice Cream is a firm favourite in the Summer months particularly with my family, so I was keen to try out the Independent range owned by Costcutter that orignially launched in 2014 and now includes over 600 lines across all food ranges and has received multiple industry awards. With this in mind, the Costcutter ice cream ranges sounded like mouth watering flavours that my family would enjoy, so we were keen to try them out.
We received two of the premium flavoured ice cream tubs, Double Chocolate and Strawberries & Cream along with some Milk Chocolate Ice lollies and Strawberry and Cream cones.
First up, the children were really eager to try the Double Chocolate ice cream flavour being chocoholics and so I let them try a scoop in a cone – perfect for these balmy Summer evenings after school. This is everything you want in a chocolate ice cream, rich creamy chocolate flavour drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with a combination of milk, white and dark chocolate curls!
So what did the children think?
“Please mummy, can we have another double chocolate cone tomorrow after school!”
Well I think that says it all, a complete winner and I have to say my favourite flavour too, the love of chocolate for me has obviously rubbed off onto them too!
Next up I dished up a bowl of Strawberries & Cream for the husband to try and I have to say it does look rather luxurious. A combination of strawberry flavour and cream flavour ice creams rippled with a strawberry sauce and topped with white chocolate curls!
Rich, creamy and delicious was the verdict! The Strawberry & Cream cones were also a hit with several family members popping round and trying them.
To finish off we have the Milk Chocolate Ice Creams which are basically Belgian chocolate coated ice cream on a stick – who could refuse that? As you can see these got the thumbs up, the chocolate tastes totally yummy and a creamy vanilla ice cream inside is just as tasty making it the perfect combination.
As you can see from my families thoughts, the Independent range of ice creams from Costcutter has proved a huge hit, tasty, delicious, quality tasting ice cream and very competitive prices. Well worth a try this Summer – you won’t be disappointed!
