Back to school with Vosene

Vosene is one of our favourite haircare ranges for the children with Pink Pomelo 2 in 1 being a top choice, although now we are back to school I have to think about the dreaded head lice.  Although my boy with short hair has never suffered, unfortunately my daughter has been caught a number of times, most recently just before they broke up for the Summer holidays.

Vosene kids offer a 3 in 1 Shampoo with natural lice repellents containing tea tree oil and lemon eucalyptus oils.  It has a really fresh lemon scent and easily lathers up to leave hair fresh and clean.  Having an added lice repellent is a bonus and you know your child will be less likely to catch head lice having used this shampoo as opposed to a normal shampoo.  One less product always helps as children really don’t like using multiple products on their hair.

Additionally the Conditioning Defence Spray is great to use and keeps hair soft and tangle free.  Being just a leave in spray this can be used at any time of the day and I found it good to use in the mornings when getting hair ready for school.  You then know that hair is boosted with lice repellents before the day ahead so I give the hair a good spray particularly around the ears and neckline as this is where we tend to find lice congregate!

Overall Vosene is a trusted brand that kids are happy to use and the feeling I have as a parent that hopefully my child’s hair will repel any lice that come it’s way helps me be more relaxed and in hope that we don’t have another dreaded head lice infestation any time soon!

Anovia Head On Range for Kids – Review

Anovia Head On is a range of haircare containing head lice repellents suitable for everyday use by the whole family.  We received a 3 in 1 conditioning shampoo and a 3 in 1 conditioning spray to try out.

anoviaWith both children attending nursery/school, the last thing I want is for them to catch head lice, as with having long hair myself I know it is something that can be passed on easily and I really don’t want to experience it myself.

Anovia Head On uses 97% natural ingredients and contains a blend of three essential oils to help prevent, treat and repel head lice.  These are Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Neem Oil.  I do think the products do smell quite strongly of these oils which is fine by me especially if I know head lice are rife, although Miss M did find it a bit strong at first.

The shampoo is rich and creamy, very easy to lather up and leaves hair clean.  You can definitely tell it has conditioning properties and it leaves the hair soft.  For Miss M’s curls, she definitely needs the conditioning spray as well, which is easily sprayed onto damp hair enabling me to gently detangle her hair before it’s fully dry.

I found the Anovia haircare products simple to use and left hair soft and clean.  Due to the essential oils used in this product the head lice repellent isn’t harsh, but leaves a gentle pleasant smell in the hair.

Even if you choose not to use these everyday, I always keep them in the bathroom cupboard for those times when a head lice warning letter comes home from school and then use this shampoo for a few weeks while the outbreak is going around to prevent my children from catching the lice.

Fingers crossed we have all been head lice free since September, even though I know they’ve been around the school already this term.  Let’s hope it stays that way!

Vosene Kids Hair and Bath products – Review

When Mummy News offered me the chance to try some of the products from Vosene Kids, I was very keen to try, particularly as their hair products contain natural head lice repellents.  Unfortunately since Miss M started school in September we receive the dreaded letter home from school every couple of months to say a number of cases have been noticed in the class.

We did find some on poor Miss M about a month ago and it is a nightmare to try to comb them out of her thick, curly hair so to have a repellent in her daily shampoo sounds like a dream product to me.

The 3 in 1 conditioning shampoo has a fresh, clean smell due to its natural ingredients Tea Tree Oil and Lemon Eucalyptus – the added repellents to keep those lice at bay.  We found theat the shampoo lathered nicely and cleaned the hair.  With Miss M’s unruly thick curls we found the conditioning bounce spray a godsend when trying to comb the hair through.  This also contains the head lice repellents so her hair was left fresh and soft with the hope that we won’t be seeing an appearance of the dreaded lice anytime again soon.

The Afterswim Hair & Body Wash has proved useful as Miss M went on an intensive swimming course last week, having lessons everyday.  I liked the tube that this came in, easy to throw in your swimming bag, handy to use in the showers and great that it is a 2 in 1 product.  We found this really easy to use and the perfect for a quick wash after swimming.

Lastly we tried the Moisturising Bubble Bath & Body Wash.  We used it as a bubble bath and were impressed with all the bubbles – a quality Miss M and Mister B always look out for at bathtimes!  For washing, we used some on their bath sponges and found it lathered nicely into a rich, soft foam, that left their skin clean and soft.  I really liked this and would be more than happy to use it again.

Overall I have to say I was quite impressed with the Vosene Kids range, one I may not have thought about buying before, but having tried a number of products from the Vosene range they are all of a good quality I will definitely consider them next time I need to purchase kids hair and bath products.  The head lice repellent shampoos I think will be an essential – I’d much rather prevent Miss M from getting them, than go through the hassle of getting rid of them.

Vosene Kids products are available from a variety of supermarkets and all good chemists.
