Enjoying musicals with #NewYearNewYou

If ever I get of me time I like to sit down and chill out, either with a favourite tv programme or a good film.  As much as I enjoy a good musical I don’t tend to sit and watch them at home but this year I’m challenging myself to try something different and in this case I’m going to spend the next few weeks watching the following musical DVD’s.  It may mean chucking the husband out – but he works more weekends than not anyway so I intend on getting the kids to bed early and having an evening to myself, or maybe with one or two female friends round to enjoy a proper classical musical film with a feel good factor that we can enjoy and sing along to!

With a great range of musicals to enjoy I can’t wait to sit and watch the following:

  • Jersey Boys
  • Singing in the Rain
  • Rock of Ages
  • Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
  • High Society

All the above DVD’s are available to purchase from Amazon HERE.

I’m going to plan one evening a week were I can have the front room to myself or with friends and totally enjoy one of these dvd’s.  It’ll be nice for a bit of adult time to watch a dvd of my choice (it’s normally kids ones!) and really give myself some of that time back I had before children.  I think just making a little effort each week to enjoy myself and relax will be great and getting into musical mode will surely get me planning a trip to the theatre later this year! Well why not? #NewYearNewYou

THE SONG SHOULD HAVE A GOOD LEADING SONG The song should have a good leading line or sequence that should get listeners interested in what is coming next (the main melody line should be strong enough to draw listeners into listening before they know what it is about). Below are some examples of good leads: “The song will tell you why you should join us here today” – “Singing along with this song will not only help me stay focused but it will also motivate me too!” – “The first thing we are going to do is getting our team together so we can chat about this exciting news!” – “The song tells us all we need to know… now let’s get ready for tonight!”
