Some Gorgeous Kids Brands to Share with you

When it comes to looking for high quality, great looking products for children and babies, there are some great brands out there that really care and use the best materials to produce their goods.  I have been lucky to try some for myself over the last week and I have to say they are all fantastic and I’ve discovered some great brands that I hadn’t tried before but wouldn’t hesitate to go back to.

First up we have Frugi, which although I had heard of, had not actually seen any of their clothes first hand.  I have to say, the quality of them is second to none, all being 100% organic cotton and quite literally the softest, thickest cotton in children’s clothes I have seen in a while.  You can also tell from the cut and finish that these are well made and I couldn’t wait to fit my children into some of the new pieces from their Summer collection.

Frugi

Mister B had a stripey t-shirt to try out and thought the applique design of a seagull listening to his headphones with his backwards cap on rather amusing.  Miss M had a playsuit, which is right up her street for her style.

bell & booBelle & Boo is simply the most gorgeously branded homeware goods for kids that I have seen in a while, with a unique, old fashioned storybook style that reminds me of my childhood.  The collection centres on a girl called Belle and her bunny friend boo as well as many other characters suitable for both boys and girls.  We received some products featuring Belle and I just adore them. They have a retro feel and are made to a really high quality, making them ideal for beautiful gifts.  From their stationery ranges we had a writing pad, shopping list and set of notebooks.  They are all lovely to write on with a cute design in each corner.  The set of notebooks features a different picture on each cover.

bell & boo 2This framed print is so cute and will look lovely on Miss M’s new bedroom wall.  It’s a classic piece of wall art that looks timeless and suits a young girl’s room perfectly.  Belle & Boo covers a large range of items such as cute kitchen items for girls, bedding, party pieces and also some rather lovely pirate themed items too – well worth checking out for that special gift!

piupia

The Piupia polo top for babies/toddlers is made from organic cotton so is super soft, just what you want to put on to little ones skin.  The top is well made, a really good cut and features buttons down from the top to help get on and off easily.  The pattern is modern on a neutral background so will fairly much go with anything and being unisex is great too.

cheeky chomper

Cheeky Chompers features a rather fine array of teething accessories, in fact some rather clever ideas such as the Neckerchew.  All the fabrics look gorgeous and comfortable to wear at the same time.  We received the Chewy the Hippo teether who I have so say is rather charming.  He’s a really good size for grabbing onto and has a soft latex body for chewing away at.  He also squeaks if you give him a squeeze.  He also has a rather lovely velcro strap to attach him to wherever needs be, car seat, pushchair etc.

kokosa

Kokoso baby is a multipurpose moisturiser made from 100% natural and organic coconut oil.  It really is a high quality product to help soothe and protect baby skin.  The product itself is quite a solid product but once warmed between your fingers it softens and melts ready to be absorbed straight into the skin to work it’s magic.  Perfect for sore bottoms, baby massage, dry skin and much more this is definitely worth a try.

Celebrating 150 years of Beatrix Potter – Giveaway

The year 2016 celebrates 150 years of the life of Beatrix Potter, most famous for her endearing tales of Peter Rabbit and friends, encased in little white books that formed a fond part of my childhood.  With 23 tales in all, Beatrix Potter was not only a successful author, but an ambitious businesswoman helping launch the range of Peter Rabbit merchandise, as well as being a botanical artist and passionate conservationist.  With a year full of various celebrations around Beatrix’s life, I’m here to join along a blog tour taking over from Jo yesterday, sharing with you some of my memories as well as giving you the opportunity to win some fabulous Peter Rabbit goodies!

150th logoTo mark the occasion we have been trying out some of the newly released merchandise in the form of this rather delicious milk chocolate Peter Rabbit from Charbonnel et Walker (rrp £15).  It’s beautifully detailed and consists of thick milk chocolate, that tastes rather divine.

Peter Rabbit Novelty Side ViewThis Peter Rabbit plush by Gund stands at 16cm tall.  It’s really soft and beautifully made, a perfect gift for anyone this Easter and suitable for ages 1+.  This soft toy is available from H Samuel and F Hinds.

Gund PlushWhen I was a child I was an avid reader, and recall fondly visiting the local library at the top of our road once a week to change my books. I always remember picking up one of the little white covered books by Beatrix Potter as one of my selection and gradually worked my way through all the titles, before reading through them again and again.  I loved the tales of Jemima Puddle duck, Miss Tiggywinkle, the Flopsy Bunnies and Squirrel Nutkin to name just a few.  I’m pleased to say I’ve managed to pass on some of my love for Beatrix Potter onto my children and they have several books that I read to them each nighta and they enjoy them just as much as I did.

To celebrate 150 years of Beatrix Potter with my readers I have the most gorgeous bundle of baby goodies to giveaway from Mothercare and Puffin books worth almost £48!

Red Fish Yellow Fish Little Learners Book – Review

Little Learners is a gorgeous new range of books from Parragon aimed at babies and toddlers. With different styles of books in the range from nursery rhymes, peek a boo books and simple colour/shape recognition books, we were given a colours book to see what they were like and share our thoughts on this new series of books.

red fishRed Fish, Yellow Fish is a board book, with really thick solid pages, perfect for little fingers.  What I really like, that I haven’t seen before is the finger holes at the bottom right corner of the book, which makes it much easier for little ones to hold and turn the page.

This is a colour recognition book, which gives the opportunity for little ones to learn and practice their colours.  It also focuses on sealife, so the child also gets to learn about animals that live in the sea, thus learning two things at once.

red fish 2I like the simple, cute drawings that are bright enough to catch little ones eyes and draw them into the objects.  With creatures such as crabs, starfish, octopus and many others to look at, all put into pairs of different colours, there is lots to learn, and this makes it a great starter book for little people!
