Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair – Review

For many years now I have lusted over the Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair, living in hope that perhaps one day I might own one.  So when Lakeland Furniture came along and offered my to try out their reproduction version, I jumped at the chance.

Lakeland Furniture specialise in high end reproductions of famous designs and all the modern classics, as well as a huge range of the UK’s best value bar stools and dining chairs.

I chose the Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair in Smoky, a classic, neutral shade that looks elegant in design, stylish and a piece that turns heads when someone walks in the room.  In fact the first question they ask is “Is the chair comfortable?”.  To which I can honestly say that it is.

I think the Philippe Starck chair would look great placed in a hallway or bedroom, a great statement chair.  The fact that it is reproduction – well without seeing and comparing it to the original it’s hard to tell the what the differences would be.  There are a few joins that I think would be better in the original but this is of perfectly acceptable quality to me and I’m very happy with it and would rather not have the designer price tag!

The Philippe Starck chair is surprisingly sturdy and seems to be built to last  – well I hope it lasts me a long time – I love this chair and think it’s a stylish piece not to be missed!
